1. Stationery donation week- Boxes were kept at various places in college campus to collect stationer materials like pen, pencils, eraser etc
2. Essay competition- Essay competition was arranged in college on social issues. huge response was received from students. prize distribution program was organised on 26th jan, 2012. Guest lecture by Dipak Bhagwat sir was arranged on same day. New members from FE and SE joined IMM.

Apart from the Kanan Nagar activity of free education to the students, the IMM volunteers are always ready for other social work. On 18th july, 2011 the volunteers did a blood donation campaign in Shahu Blood Bank. Four donor's blood was directly given to needy and three donor's blood was given for storage in the bank.The output of this work was obtained on the site itself as the needy person gave lots of blessings to the donors. 

Similarly on the same day the volunteers visited the "Matoshri" old age home in Kolhapur  and brought a smile on the people there. It gave lots of satisfaction to the IMM group and a lot of knowledge too.

How IMM started ???

The founder of IMM are the students of KIT's College of Engineering, Kolhapur. These engineering students studied the different areas in the city of Kolhapur along with the problems of people and selected the slum area of Kanan Nagar to intiate their work.They started with the free education to the students there who belong to the age group of 7-14 years. Every sunday they had a session of 2 hours in the evening with the children there which included study and games. They even went to the houses of children and became familiar with the parents. This work started by the founders is still continued by the students of same college even today.

What we want ???

IMM is not for some publicity or to show off the work we are doing. IMM basically is formed by those who wants to do something for nation. It is just to gain self satisfaction and happiness from our social deeds. The members of IMM know that they can't bring about a change as a miracle. they always keep a positive outlook towards the work they do. They are giving their small contribution towards the development of India and a small share in fulfilling APJ Abdul Kalam's vision of developed India.
The aim of the IMM members is to work in the slum areas as well as other neglected places and to help the people their in increasing their standard of living and making them aware about the outside world. This is done by giving free education to the students there and carrying out various activities for the people about health and cleanliness. 

What is IMM ???

IMM stands for Ignited Minds Movement. The concept of IMM is based on the dream of our dear Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. His vision of developed India is considered while working for IMM. 

Basically, this IMM blog deals with the social activities of the students of KIT's College of engineering, Kolhapur. The active members of IMM are trying to bring about a change in the society to make it worth living and these volunteers are helping to develop the nation as per their capacity.

We can do social work even if when you don't have money and thats what these students are trying to tell. 

The blog is not for the publicity of IMM but its just to make the other youth aware that its a high time now and they should take a step to help our INDIA grow.
